Fred Newman (actor)
Frederick R. "Fred" Newman (born May 6, 1952) is an American actor, voice actor, composer, comedian, and sound effects artist, as well as a former talk show host. He is best known for his roles in ''Who Framed Roger Rabbit'' and ''Doug.''
== Personal life ==
Newman was born in LaGrange, Georgia. He is a 1974 graduate of the University of Georgia, and received an MBA at Harvard Business School in 1978. Fred Newman married Katy Dobbs in 1985, and the couple has two children: Gil John Newman (son) and Lila Claire Newman (daughter). Lila appeared on A Prairie Home Companion (APHC) as an actor and singer when the show was in Chicago at Ravinia Park.〔http://prairiehome.publicradio.org/programs/2011/06/25/guests.shtml〕 Lila began contributing sketches and writing to APHC on a weekly basis in November 2013 and since 〔http://prairiehome.publicradio.org/www_publicradio/tools/media_player/popup.php?name=phc/2013/12/07/phc_20131207_128&starttime=01:50:26&endtime=01:59:00〕 has received several on air credits for her work.
